Sue Ketcheson and Christine Sismondo have spent a lifetime behind bars.
At least it feels that way.
What makes it worse sometimes, is their obsessive natures. Not only do they spend their working lives playing with drinks, they spend their playtime working with drinks, too. When Sismondo isn’t writing about her search for the perfect cocktail, she is pounding the pavement looking for the ideal bar. When Ketcheson isn’t concocting the world’s best bar syrups, she is out buying old cookbooks trying to learn the best recipe for bitters.
So, after many years of playing together, the two decided it was time to make a go of a business.
And so, here they are. Consulting, concocting and cavorting. It’s about time.
Christine Sismondo is a noted cocktail authority, having written on the subject for Toronto Life, The Toronto Star, En Route, The Journal of the American Cocktail and the National Post. She is an active participant in the international cocktail community, convening with her friends at Tales of the Cocktail every year in New Orleans to discuss the latest developments in the world of hard liquor.
Sue Ketcheson is a genius with essential oils and herbal extracts. Having worked to master flavour combinations and raw exotic ingredients for many years, Sue is a real bar star. Her favourite drink is elderflower liqueur.
